What Is A Rep?

Structure Of A Rep
A repetition can be broken down into three components. The lifting phase, the lowering phase and whatever pause you take between lifting and lowering.




The Lifting Phase

The "lift" can also be called the concentric or the positive part of the rep. The purpose of the "lift" is to force your targeted muscles to contract.
